Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’s multiplayer beta is available now in early access, but unfortunately, the servers buckled under the influx of players logging in at the same time early on. A lot of the issues have been addressed due to Activision adding more servers. Servers went live at around 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET, and a lot of people hopped in all at once, leading to some problems due to simple server load, it seems. Developer Treyarch is now adding more servers to help deal with the load. “More servers? More servers!” Treyarch said. [Update: the server deployment has been enacted and Activision says improvements have been made to the multiplayer experience as a result]
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will soon be playable, and before it gets into players’ hands, Activision has revealed the system requirements for the PC version. Whether you’re looking to target the minimum specs or hoping to hit the recommended ones, you won’t need a cutting-edge machine to play this year’s CoD game–in fact, you’re not being asked for anything more than with 2023’s Modern Warfare 3.In terms of minimum specs, the game only calls for an Intel Core i5-6600 or AMD Ryzen 5 1400, 8GB of RAM, and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 960/1650 or AMD Radeon RX 470. These are years-old GPUs, so if you’re someone who routinely plays PC games, it’s not a leap to assume you’ll check these boxes. The most stringent requirement for some might be the need to have an SSD, where the game will take up 149GB a…
Read moreArtistically, Star Wars Outlaws looks like it could very easily exist in the same galaxy that the original trilogy of films took place in. That direction helped establish the visual language of the game, but developer Massive Entertainment wanted to take things a step further by making Star Wars Outlaws look like it had been shot with the same film lenses as the classic movies. To achieve this technical feat, the studio developed its own digital “camera lens” in the Snowdrop Engine, which was used to give Star Wars Outlaws a more cinematic presentation. While this is an optional mode, players can enable a widescreen presentation in the game that adds black bars to the bottom of the screen, a period-accurate film grain, and other small cinematic touches.”We developed a lens, a came…

Monster Hunter Wilds, the next installment in Capcom’s Monster Hunter series, won’t be arriving until next year. However, GameSpot was invited to a hands on preview during Gamescom, and senior producer Jean-Luc Seipke is sharing their Monster Hunter Wilds experience in our video overview. And there’s a lot for fans to look forward to.The first thing that fans may notice is that Monster Hunter Wilds has a much bigger map to explore than previous titles. The Monster Hunter camp site is also directly connected to the map this time, and a further sense of community can be found while going on four player co-op hunts. Players are also allowed to pick secondary weapons, which dramatically changes combat in the game.
It’s going to be a while before Monster Hunter Wilds arrives and unleashes a menagerie of deadly dragons to track down, but right now, you can pass the time with other games in the series. Over at Fanatical, you can build your own bundle of Monster Hunter PC games and DLC, with pricing starting at $11 for two games from the list below. You can expand that selection to four games for $20 or you can pay $30 for eight games. And for a different kind of Monster Hunter experience, the creature-taming Monster Hunter Stories series is on sale at Amazon. You can grab the recently released Monster Hunter Stories Collection for Nintendo Switch for $40 (was $60). Get Monster Hunter Stories Collection Deal
