Hunt: Showdown just received its massive 1896 re-launch–one that overhauls Crytek’s supernatural extraction shooter and updates it for current-gen consoles–and it’s doing the numbers on Steam to prove it.Crytek’s shooter has always had a consistent player count of around 20,000-30,000 people on Steam over the last few years, slowly but surely cementing its place as one of the best extraction shooters available. The Hunt: Showdown 1896 launch has pushed the game’s concurrent Steam players to new heights, reaching over 55,000 players and counting at time of writing, according to SteamDB.

The next fighter for Warner Bros.’s platform fighter MultiVersus is scaring his way into the roster soon. WB and Player First Games dropped a new trailer focusing on Beetlejuice–the bodacious “bio-exorcist” from the 1989 film of the same name–who will join the playable roster next week.Beetlejuice is an Assassin-class character in MultiVersus, which focuses on dealing lots of damage while constantly moving around the arena. The trailer highlights multiple moves from Beetlejuice’s wacky repertoire, including his ability to shape-shift and an aerial attack where he summons a Sandworm through a magically materialized door. We also see a brief flash of “Beetlejuice! 1/3” after he scores a KO, which indicates a power revolving around saying his name three times–or the way he’s usually summon…

Thanks to a hectic production schedule, The Fantastic Four: First Steps didn’t begin filming until July 29, the day after Comic-Con. That wasn’t enough time to get a trailer together, but Marvel didn’t come to D23 empty-handed. As of this week, The Umbrella Academy has finished its four-season run at Netflix. While there is still the possibility that the show could get some spin-offs, the fourth season premiered under the cloud of the accusations that showrunner Steve Blackman created a toxic work environment, including one account that came from Season 4 co-showrunner Jesse McKeown.
