Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’s multiplayer beta is available now in early access, but unfortunately, the servers buckled under the influx of players logging in at the same time early on. A lot of the issues have been addressed due to Activision adding more servers. Servers went live at around 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET, and a lot of people hopped in all at once, leading to some problems due to simple server load, it seems. Developer Treyarch is now adding more servers to help deal with the load. “More servers? More servers!” Treyarch said. [Update: the server deployment has been enacted and Activision says improvements have been made to the multiplayer experience as a result]

Now Playing: Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 – Official Multiplayer Reveal Trailer
A big change for Black Ops 6’s beta compared to the beta tests for past Call of Duty games is that the beta is available on all platforms at once. In the past, PlayStation users got in first because Sony paid Activision. But Microsoft now owns Call of Duty and has changed the playbook.A statement from the Call of Duty Updates account said Black Ops 6 is implementing login queues to help deal with the server load. And for players who are able to get in, they might run into extended matchmaking wait times. “We’re working to deploy more servers to get players in-game and matches started,” the company said. The Black Ops 6 beta is available now for people who preordered the game or have Xbox Game Pass. Other ways to get in early include having Xfinity or paying $1 for a Game Pass trial. The early-access period runs until September 4. After that, an open beta available to everyone runs September 6-9.Black Ops 6 launches in full on October 25, and it includes a campaign mode set in the ’90s, multiplayer, and Zombies (with the return of round-based matches).New Game Pass Additions For The Rest Of August Headlined By Black Ops 6 BetaSee More
